The Nicok Fun Challenge 2025 Inter-School Scrabble & Chess Competition concluded in a grand style as students from different schools gathered for the final showdown of strategic brilliance. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and intellectual energy as the final matches for both scrabble and chess singles categories were held to determine the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place champions. What began weeks earlier with multiple rounds of eliminations, wins, losses and ties finally reached and inspiring climax; crowing young champions while celebrating every participant’s growth and dedication.

The event began with the introduction of notable Guest and Royal rulers present, thereafter the opening prayer was taken, and the National Anthem was sung followed by a welcome address by the host school and opening speech by Representative of Nicok Integrated Solutions.

Beyond competition, the finale featured insightful presentations from distinguished speakers who emphasized the importance of mind games in academic excellence, how games like Scrabble and Chess foster critical thinking, patience, problem-solving and emotional intelligence. The role of strategic games in shaping confident students and enhance their ability to take advantage of life changing opportunities.

Immediately after the inspiring and energetic speeches, the event continued with the highly anticipated scrabble and chess singles final game.

Chess Finals: Battle of Strategy and swift Thinking;

The chess finals opened with tense excitement. Baptist High School vs Pearlville School battled out for the first place spot while Arch Deacon Dennis Secondary School vs Holy Ghost College battled out for the third place spot. The finalists calculated their moves with incredible precision. Each piece on the board told its own story, it was a true display of patience, intelligence and creative thinking. After a series of brain-locking matches, the 1^st 2^nd and 3^rd place champions emerged.

1^st Place position was clenched by Cherish Nwankwo (Baptist High School)

2^nd Place _ Aham Kamsi (Pearlville School)

3^rd Place _ Nwaosuji James (Holy Ghost College).

This outcome left shouts of celebration vibrating in the atmosphere and supporters of each school rejoiced at the success of their player.

Scrabble Finals: Word Power and Smart Play

The Scrabble finals was played alongside the chess final games. St Pauls International Boys Secondary School vs Christ Foundation Secondary School battled out for the first place spot, while HHCJ Assumpta Girls model Secondary School vs Pearlville School battled out for the third place spot. Participants showcased remarkable vocabulary strength, sharp mental mathematics, and unbeatable board vision. High-scoring words, triple word play, smart word placement were fully engaged in by all participants. By the end of the games, the winners emerged and were celebrated not just for their scores, buy for their composure, creativity, and mastery of language.

1^st Place _ Eze Victory (Christ Foundation Secondary School)

2^nd Place _ Aghogu Kelvin (St Pauls International Secondary School)

3^rd place _ Iwuamadi Olive (HHCJ Assumpta Girls model Secondary school)

AWARDS, PRIZES & RECOGNITION

The celebration reach its peak during the award ceremony. Winners received trophies, medals and cash prizes. Every participant both student and facilitators were awarded monetary prizes in form of written, signed cheques. Highlighting that everyone is a winner in learning and resilience.

Thereafter winners of the Scrabble and chess doubles were honored with medals as well as cash gifts. This award was followed by a short break to award new subscriber on Nicok social media channel which was done as a raffle and two winners emerged taking home five thousand Naira cash on the spot, also former subscribers who have been actively engaging the social media channel were awarded ten thousand Naira cash.

After this short break to award the online community, the online voting category winners were awarded their prizes. The best teacher, best student, best in craftsmanship, best in sport category winners went home with fifty thousand Naira each. Then the final prize was awarded_ Nicok School of the Year Christ Foundation Secondary School emerged as the winner clenching the grand prize of one thousand dollars ($1000). Excitement, Jubilation and Gyration filled the environment as winning schools rejoiced in the euphoria of their wins and awesome prizes.

It is evident that the mission of Nicok to revive education and also give back to the society is indeed an impactful one, not just for the present but for the future. The future of intellectual sports/games has never looked brighter and great young minds have been stirred up to think innovatively and make remarkable moves both on and off the board.
