Game day five of the Nicok Fun Challenge inter-school scrabble & chess tournament was nothing short of electrifying! The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the competition entered its decisive phase _ the final rounds of the doubles game: round 8 and round 9, the semi-finals of the singles for both scrabble and chess. The game took place on the 7^th of November at Pearlville School Avu the host for the day, after a short break from the last game day. The nine schools came into the day with renewed energy and sharpened strategies, knowing that every move and every word would cement their place on the doubles table and determine who advances to the grand stage for the singles.

CHESS

The final rounds of the chess doubles was absolutely thrilling a spectacle of composure and coordination. Partners worked in sync, thinking two steps ahead and executing some jaw dropping plays, with Holy Ghost College securing their spot at the top of the chart with clean winning streak from day one.

The singles semi-finals was intense, every board was indeed a battle field with surprise comeback and clock ticking finishes. Now we’ve got the finalist and everyone is in high anticipation for the winner who will claim the prize at the grand finale. The final match up will be between Baptist High School vs Pearlville School. While Arch Deacon Dennis Secondary will face-off Holy Ghost College for the 3^rd position prize.

SCRABBLE

The scrabble doubles was fun-filled! Teams were dropping high-scoring words, words were challenge and dictionaries were flipped constantly. Each team proved that teamwork and vocabulary mastery go hand-in-hand, racking up high-scoring plays. The rounds ended with Christ foundation secondary school at the top of the chart with more wins in the game so far.

The singles scrabble semi-finals was all about word wizardry, you could see the focus in each player’s face, determination mixed with pure excitement. We got our finalist and the match up will be between St Paul’s international boys secondary school versus Christ foundation secondary school. While Pearlville School will face-off HHCJ Assumpta Girls Model Secondary School for the 3^rd position prize.

EYES ON THE GRAND FINALE

With the completion of the doubles tournament and finalist for the singles set, Game day five ended on a thrilling note, with cheers and plenty of anticipation for the final singles showdown and the award ceremony where the champions will be finally crowned and given their mouth-watering prizes.

CONCLUSION
